your discord.
a little more you.
themes, plugins, and the little things that make a client feel like home. maycord is exploring how that could work if discord moves to a native rust client.
theme concept
what it could become
- themes
colors that mean something
themes are plain color choices, no code. you pick what surface, ink, and accent mean, and maycord carries them through every corner of the client.
- plugins
small helpers, on your terms
think a shortcut you always wanted, a draft that waits for you, a nicer way to do the thing you do fifty times a day. plugins ask for what they need, and run in a sandbox with only the access you give them.
- native
one mod, every desktop
working toward a native core for windows, macos, and linux. changes load while the app runs, so the original client on disk stays untouched.
where it's at
early and moving. there's nothing to download yet, and the source isn't public yet.
- native injection proof
macos - code-free themes
working on macos - sandboxed wasm plugins
built locally - windows and linux
